Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU night shift position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and at least three years of recent NICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care UnitCare for neonates from 23 weeks gestation up to 4 months oldTypical conditions treated include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndromePerform advanced NICU procedures including ventilation management, use of oscillators, pressors, and care of micro preemiesProvide services such as nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide therapyAssist with bedside procedures including IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, and percutaneous catheter insertions12-hour night shifts, 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 00 am, three shifts per weekRespond to neonatal emergencies, provide immediate assessment and care for newborns, and attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveriesMost diagnostic services are performed at bedsideProvide parent teaching as part of discharge preparationReferences from two managers or supervisors verifying recent experience preferredFirst-time travelers are eligible for consideration\n \n Requirements\n
Active and unencumbered DC RN license required at time of considerationThree years or more of NICU experience requiredAHA BLS, NRP, STABLE certifications requiredCPI certification mandated by positionAt least two years of recent hospital-based experience in NICU in the United StatesMust reside at least 25 miles from the facilityU.S. Social Security Number required\n Benefits\n
