Network Administrator

Location : Grand Rapids, MI | Onsite

Employment Type : Fulltime | Permanent

Salary : $65,000-$75,000 + bonus

The Network Administrator will be a hands-on, service-oriented IT professional responsible for the configuration, administration, and support of Cisco networking infrastructure as well as core systems and end-user technologies. This role will spend the majority of time on Cisco networking, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless, while also supporting VMware, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server environments. The position requires both technical depth and the flexibility to wear multiple hats, ensuring stable, secure, and reliable technology operations for the organization.

Key Responsibilities of the Network Administrator :

Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless, and Firepower firewalls.

Perform network moves, adds, changes, and support projects such as a new colocation disaster recovery site.

Provide Tier 1-2 helpdesk support for hardware, software, and user issues across the organization.

Manage and support Microsoft 365, including account provisioning, Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online (migration in process).

Perform systems administration within a VMware and Windows Server environment, including Active Directory / Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

Maintain network and systems documentation, diagrams, and procedures.

Collaborate with IT leadership on new technology initiatives and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Network Administrator :

2+ years of hands-on Cisco networking experience (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless).

Strong troubleshooting skills with proven ability to resolve networking issues.

Experience with VMware and Windows Server administration.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and identity management.

Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.

Strong communication abilities and willingness to work face-to-face with users.

Preferred / Bonus Skills of the Network Administrator :

Cisco CCNA certification.

Experience with Firepower firewalls.

Office 365 / Azure administration.

Exposure to cybersecurity practices and tools.

Experience supporting both system infrastructure and end users in a professional services environment.
