The Library seeks an experienced leader to serve as the Director of the Digital Services Directorate (DSD), responsible for the Library’s digital collections, discovery, and metadata management services. The DSD will lead transformational changes, including selecting and implementing new enterprise discovery, collection management, and metadata management systems, and oversee programs such as web archiving, crowdsourcing, collections digitization, and workflow development. This position collaborates closely with the Library’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to plan, implement, and maintain discovery and management tools.
The Directorate, part of the Library Collections & Services Group (LCSG), encompasses three divisions : Digital Collections Management & Services, the Integrated Library Systems Program Office, and the Business Analysis Team, totaling 82 staff and contractors. The role offers the opportunity to impact national library services and connect the Library to the American people and the world.
