JMT's Allentown, PA Construction Management Team is seeking qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspectors for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects within the PennDOT District 5-0 (Reading, PA / Berks County) region. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures of construction activities on behalf of our clients (primarily PennDOT) for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, conformance to plans, specifications and codes. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and / or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
• Makes field notes and computations
• Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials
• Gathers and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)
