Overview

About the position : This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Base Pool at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts. This position is a FLEX position and is not guaranteed hours, may work 0 - 40 hours a week. May be required to work evenings, weekends or holidays. Applications will be reviewed every 2 weeks until close of this announcement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides swimming lessons and instruction to groups of adults and / or children, or to individual adults or children.
  • Instructs patrons on rules and procedures for safe swimming.
  • Works in swimming pool environment where lifeguards are present to perform lifesaving activity.
  • Will assist lifeguards in inspecting pools for safe conditions, and perform other duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming pool to include : cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks & lifeguarding when not performing swim instruction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position requires the applicant to be able to possess a CPR, First-Aid and Lifeguard Training Certificate.
  • This position requires practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (installation records checks, and state and Tier 1 level) may be required for positions that provide lessons or instruction to children.
