Duration : 13-week contract

Facility Type : Hospital / Endoscopy / GI Suite

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Travel Endoscopy Technician to support our client in Hazel Crest, IL on a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will assist with endoscopic procedures, ensure equipment integrity, uphold infection control standards, and help deliver a smooth, efficient workflow in the GI / endoscopy suite.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up the endoscopy procedure room, ensuring all instruments, scopes, and supplies are available and functioning properly

Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain endoscopic equipment according to guidelines and facility protocols

Assist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures by handing instruments, maintaining sterile field, positioning patients, and observing patient comfort

Handle specimen collection, labeling, and coordination with pathology or lab services

Monitor and report on equipment functionality; troubleshoot minor issues or escalate as needed

Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, instrument usage, equipment maintenance, and patient observations

Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory policies; maintain clean and organized procedural and recovery areas

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year experience in endoscopy / GI tech enviment or comparable procedural tech experience

Knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, sterilization, and handling of endoscopes and related equipment

Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain

Stg communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and support staff

Attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced procedural enviment
