Our client is a Super High-end resort.

  • This job is NOT remote. We are looking for candidates anywhere in U.S., Canada, or United Kingdom willing to move to Bermuda!

We’re seeking a   Director of Audio Visual Events   to join a global team of service professionals committed to creating unforgettable memories. In this role, your leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision will be key to delivering world-class event experiences while supporting the hotel’s broader business objectives. This person is responsible for a 5-person team.

Responsibilities :

  • Coach and mentor the audiovisual team, ensuring accountability, high performance, and exceptional guest service, whilst driving employee satisfaction results fostering professional growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for technical event services aligned with company goals.
  • Own and manage departmental budgets, including revenue forecasting, labour planning, and cost control, ensuring they are both timely and accurate.
  • Drive new business through proactive sales efforts and client relationship development.
  • Thoroughly research and understand customer history and previous experiences, in order to create more personalised customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Catering, and Conference Services to assess client needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings as necessary to support the customer event experience.
  • Drive new business through proactive sales efforts and client relationship development.
  • Source and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Effectively prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
  • Function as the central point of contact for all technical queries, including overseeing the pre-production, installation and break down of equipment
  • Maintain knowledge of new product / service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events.
  • Manage contractor and vendor relations and ensure work performance meets Fairmont standards.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for technical operations, including contingency and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate, hotel, and departmental policies and safety standards.
  • Perform any other function related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years international on-site venue management experience preferably in a luxury hotel.
  • 3 years’ experience in event technology and sales
  • Strong background in sound, video, lighting and hybrid event technologies.
  • Degree level education or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver high service standards in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Advanced technical aptitude with proficiency in Windows, Mac OS, and AV software.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strict adherence to health and safety protocols as defined by Accor, WHO, and CDC.

    Requirements

    Job Requirements : Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with QCS controls, Biamp, Audio DSP, Shure and Intelix. Great to have : AVPro Edge and Visionary Solutions for VoIP / switchers Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with AV equipment Advanced knowledge of TCP / IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls are preferred. Advanced working knowledge of computers (Windows-based) and software. Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and embrace a team-centric environment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including product specifications, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive customer inquiries or complaints. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Valid driver’s license with minimum 3-year clean driving record. Infocomm CTS certification (within 6 months of employment start) & CTS-I within 12 months Maintain and / or acquire OSHA 10 Hr construction within 3 months from employment start.
