Description :

Licensed for 457 beds.

Level 3 Trauma and Stroke Center of Excellence.

Bariatric Center of Excellence and Chest Pain Center.

Average patient census is 51 per day.

Patient types include chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, mental health, addiction services requiring IV antibiotics, COPD, diabetes, wounds, and geriatric care.

Patient ratios are RN 1 : 4-6, acuity dependent, surge times could increase to 1 : 7-8.

General Med / Telemetry skillset required includes cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips, care of patients with tubes and drains, IV start skills, blood product administration, and wound care / dressing changes.

Support within the department includes Nurse Manager, Administrative Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNAs, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, and House Supervisor.

EMR used is EPIC.

Department-specific equipment includes scales, GBS machines, transfer devices, vein finders, EKG machines, crash carts, language interpreters, telemedicine carts for online assessments, and Dopplers.

Floating may occur within the designated region as needed.

Weekend rotation is every other week with no call requirement.

Travelers will work 75% of holidays.

Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays, with time added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Scrub color is navy blue.
