Job Description
Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Technology Development Engineer , located in Sparks, NV .
The Technology Development Engineer supports the design, development, and validation of advanced metrology systems used in gas flow and pressure testing, rate of rise systems, and transient flow analysis. This role combines hands-on engineering with analytical modeling, software development, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation in fluid dynamics and system performance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, build, test, and calibrate metrology systems for gas flow and pressure applications.
- Develop and analyze mechanical systems and packaging; identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Create test sequences and support software development in MATLAB, LabVIEW, and other platforms.
- Derive theoretical correlations to support experimental work and interpret results using first principles.
- Generate technical documentation including statements of work, assembly procedures, and manuals.
- Design and work with 1D flow networks and P&IDs.
- Apply engineering principles in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and control systems to experimental design and analysis.
- Collaborate across departments and maintain clear communication with engineering leadership.
- Contribute to design control documentation, test plans, and execution.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and support broader engineering initiatives as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics (with emphasis in Fluid Dynamics), or related field.2+ years of engineering or related experience.Strong foundation in chemical and mechanical engineering principles.Proficiency in MATLAB / Simulink, LabVIEW, VBA, and C / C# / C++.Experience with version control software.Ability to independently drive projects and communicate effectively with team members.Familiarity with design controls and quality systems.
