Job Details
We are seeking a strategic and experienced legal leader to join our team as Assistant General Counsel, Labor & Employment. This is a high-impact role for a business-minded attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is energized by building, improving, and leading through complexity.
What You’ll Do
Provide day-to-day legal counsel on complex, multi-state labor and employment matters.
Lead national labor relations strategy, including collective bargaining, union campaign management, and employee relations initiatives.
Manage and mentor a high-performing team across labor relations, legal counsel, investigations, and litigation support.
Advise senior leadership on organizational change, compliance, and workforce strategy.
Partner with HR on policy development, executive compensation, and workplace initiatives.
Oversee internal investigations and employment-related compliance matters.
Manage labor and employment litigation, including oversight of outside counsel and legal spend.
Deliver training and build legal awareness across business units.
Support strategic transactions, including M&A, site launches, and workforce transitions.
What We’re Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in at least one U.S. state.
15+ years of experience in :
Traditional labor law (e.g., collective bargaining, union campaigns)
Employment law counseling (e.g., wage & hour, leaves, terminations)
Employment litigation (single plaintiff and class actions)
Proven ability to advise senior executives and influence business decisions.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing legal and non-legal professionals.
Strong communication, writing, and negotiation skills.
Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-changing environment with a solution-oriented mindset.
