The Cloud Team supports and deploys systems, infrastructure, and services within our cloud environments. This team is building and needs team members to drive forward on our cloud strategy and possess the skill to make our cloud adoption successful.

Primary Responsibilities

The Cloud Architect’s role is to develop and maintain the high-level design plan and design and put them into actionably plans to be implemented. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making as it relates to architecture, down to the project planning level.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of company’s strategic business plans to align with future architecture requirements.
  • Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to the business in regard to new software applications, security, disaster recovery, high availability or infrastructure.
  • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT architecture and technology portfolio.
  • Develop and manage an application and infrastructure capacity plan.
  • Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a technology standards policy across the organization on anything new being brought into the organization, or changed.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of corporate efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, flexibility and scalability.
  • Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in technologies that includes scalability, analysis of cost reduction opportunities, or to reduce risk.
  • Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans to check applications, infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to advise senior management about how to plan their future IT needs.
  • Collaborate with end users and senior management to define business requirements for complex systems development and gain buy-in for architectural plans.
  • Create an organizational IT roadmap.
  • Create a robust IT architecture framework and enforce across IT systems.
  • Decision authority / signoff authority on application / infrastructure / security architecture.
  • Review new and existing IT projects, systems design, and procurement / outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
  • Provide guidance to others within IT.
  • Actively involved in budgeting annually, as well as throughout the year within projects
