The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling accounts, documenting business transactions, and maintaining a sound internal control structure for hospital operations. In addition, this role will be responsible for supporting internal and external audit activities.
The Senior Accountant will also be a key business partner to the operations they support, providing relevant and timely information related to financial results. The Senior Accountant is expected to partner with other members of the finance team to support budgeting, financial analysis, and ad hoc report requests.
Responsibilities :
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP, internal policies, and monthly closing schedules.
- Completes month-end close responsibilities and prepares timely account analyses, reconciliations, and variance explanations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Delivers monthly financial reports and analysis to senior management, providing insights into performance against budget and actual results.
- Supports internal and external audits through preparation of work papers, reconciliations, and financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Recommends and implements improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and use of ERP tools.
- Mentors junior staff, provides backup support for accounts payable and fixed assets, and completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
