This role offers an opportunity to advise clients on a broad range of transactional and regulatory issues related to retirement plans, executive compensation, and other employee benefit arrangements. Duties :
- Guide ERISA, tax, and compliance matters affecting benefit plans and compensation arrangements
- Structure and review retirement and welfare benefit plans for legal compliance and strategic optimization
- Draft, revise, and interpret plan documents, policies, and related materials
- Advise clients on executive compensation, employment agreements, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans
- Conduct due diligence and support transactions involving ESOPs and other benefit-related considerations
- Assist in identifying risks and developing practical legal solutions for employers and plan sponsors
- Stay current with developments in employee benefits law and related federal regulations
Requirements :
Minimum of 3 years' experience focusing on ERISA, employee benefits, or executive compensation mattersDemonstrated ability to handle complex transactional work within a law firm environmentProficiency in analyzing IRS and DOL rules and guidancePrior experience advising on ESOPs is highly desirableClear and persuasive written and verbal communication skillsThe capability to independently manage assignments and interact with clientsEducation :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications :
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionEligibility for admission in Ohio, or willingness to obtain itSkills :
