Newscast Producer

WKEF / DKEF has an immediate opening for a morning news producer! In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing two hours of our fast-paced morning show. This is made for someone who likes to take risks and showcase their creative side. This is a tremendous opportunity to break into television news or continue to grow in your career. The main responsibilities of this role will include : Write and update stories for newscasts Create opportunities for memorable moments and conversations on-air Work closely with reporters, directors and photographers to maximize our resources each morning You’ll determine the flow of two hours of morning news Work with on-air talent to help book compelling guests and newsmakers to be on the show Timing shows Monitoring breaking news / weather / traffic throughout the morning The skills you need to be successful in this role : Solid news judgement A willingness to learn and grow Be a compelling and accurate writer Be able to manage time well The ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment Strong leadership and communication skills Flexibility and fast problem-solving skills are vital Proficiency with iNews a plus Journalism or related degree preferred EEO AND INCLUSIVITY : Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
