About The Position

Job Title : IMC RN

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Intermediate Care

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour nights

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in IMC or ICU

License : Must hold a current registered nurse license in the state of permanent residency

Certifications : American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Must-Have :

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Description :

The IMC RN is responsible for managing high acuity patients who are often too critical for a medical / surgical floor but may not require an ICU level of care.

The IMC team is skilled in caring for populations such as sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart procedures, and continuous cardiac infusions.

The IMC RN will monitor patients requiring acute continuous non-invasive ventilation, such as BiPAP and CPAP.

These patients require continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring.

The IMC RN will be prepared to intervene quickly to any changes in hemodynamics or respiratory demands.

The IMC RN is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating an individualized plan of care for their patients.

The IMC RN serves as an advocate and educator to patients and their families.

The Intermediate Care unit is a fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment providing high acuity care to critically ill patients.
