About Squad 10
Squad 10, which includes the Offices of the Inspectors General for the Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), seeks an experienced investigator to serve as an Assistant Inspector General. This squad oversees a significant portion of the City's capital budget and key projects related to public facilities, water and sewer infrastructure, transportation, and parks.
Position Overview
The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) will lead and conduct criminal investigations into fraud and corruption involving City agencies, employees, and contractors. Responsibilities include investigating embezzlement, procurement fraud, conflicts of interest, waste, and mismanagement. The AIG will perform complex financial analyses, document reviews, and prepare detailed reports. The role may also involve supervising other investigators in a limited capacity.
Additional Requirements
Selected candidates will undergo fingerprinting, a background check, and a review of consumer credit history as per NYC Administrative Code 8-107(24)(b)(2)(A).
