The Job / What You'll Do :
The Manager of Accounting is responsible for supervising the accounting staff, analyzing and preparing financial reports for company leadership, overseeing the month-end closing process, and developing standards and processes for proper financial management. Additionally, the Manager of Accounting will assist the VP of Finance and CFO with various financial administrative tasks.
To be successful in this role, you should be adept at performing a variety of financial activities, including planning, analysis, and reporting. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential. You should also be able to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the VP, Finance with financial administrative tasks.
- Assist the VP, Finance with preparing new financial reports for departments / programs as needed.
- Assist the VP, Finance in creating and maintaining reports within Great Plains and Management Reporter.
- Assist the VP, Finance in developing and maintaining cost allocation methods.
- Assist the VP, Finance in fundraising accounting.
- Supervise and train the Senior, Staff-level, and Junior Staff Accountants.
- Oversee the month-end close cycle and ensure its timely completion.
- Maintain financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Review and analyze data to provide guidance and advise surrounding investment and financial decisions related to retirement plans, administrative costs, plan expenditures, etc. to ensure financial and fiscal responsibility for the organization and plan participants.
- Works alongside the VP, Finance to prepare individual external contract budgets that support all new programs and renewals.
- Prepare Monthly and Quarterly financial reports, including statement of cash flows.
- Conduct trend analysis of financial statements and explain variances.
- Prepare monthly budget for actual analysis reports.
- Works alongside the VP, Finance in preparing audit schedules and working with auditors including single audits.
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of financial reports.
- Assist in troubleshooting with Payroll and Accounts Payable.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Other accounting and administrative tasks as delegated.

8+ years' industry experience, 4+ years leadership, RequiredBachelors Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, PreferredFinancial Analysis and General Ledger Accounting; Financial Reporting; Budget Experience PreferredWorking Conditions :
