Job Title : Human Resource Consultant III

Location : This is a hybrid position. Must live in commutable distance to Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area.

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.

Job Description

OBAN Corporation is seeking a Human Resource Consultant III to join its federal customer. The role is responsible for HR programs and projects, conducts research to identify issues, and provides advice and recommendations for resolving daily HR challenges. The consultant formulates strategic plans, assists in recruitment and training, and implements HR technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to accomplish projects as a Senior Member.
  • Serve as a consulting member and may lead multiple tasks or projects.
  • Develop methodologies and strategic plans.
  • Address areas such as Performance Management, Employee Relations, Talent Development, Workforce Planning, Retention Planning, Employee Engagement Action Planning, Strategic Business Priorities, Restructuring, Skills Assessments, and HR Compliance Reporting.
  • Create and roll out new HR materials and policies (e.g., employee handbook, annual reviews, policies and procedures).
  • Collaborate with management to review turnover statistics and implement retention and employee relations strategies.
  • Identify and resolve problems with staff, faculty, or organizational structure, processes, or policies that affect a positive work environment.
  • Partner with Leadership to identify trends and recommend policy or procedure changes to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Advise management, faculty, and staff to promote good working relationships and trust in leadership.
  • Advise on disciplinary, training, or other measures to address performance, conduct, or attitudinal issues.
  • Develop and facilitate management training on HR policies, leadership development, team building, and interpersonal skills; refer management staff to additional resources as needed.
  • Attend department meetings to provide HR input into planning and activities.
  • Assist in strengthening the management team through recruitment, selection, and development of managers.
  • Assist in organizational redesign, role definition, process review, implementation, and communication of changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Broad knowledge of HR areas including compensation, benefits, payroll, and recruitment.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required government security check.
  • U.S. Citizen.
