Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Mayfield, Kentucky 42066

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) – 3rd & 4th Floor

Facility Size : 107-bed hospital, 65-bed Med / Surg unit

Start Date : November 3, 2025

End Date : February 2, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour days (07 : 00-19 : 00), every other weekend required

Hours per Week : 36 (guaranteed)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680 - $1800

Electronic Health Record : Meditech

Dress Code : Scrubs (any color; no hoodies or words except facility name)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Kentucky or compact state

BLS certification (required prior to start)

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical / Surgical nursing experience

Ability to float to similar healthcare units as needed

Compassionate, patient-focused, and team-oriented

Must reside at least 60 miles from facility to qualify as a travel nurse

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on the Med / Surg unit

Manage patient assignments up to 1 : 8 with Patient Care Assistant (PCA) support

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Meditech EHR

Administer medications, treatments, and post-operative care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Care for patients with common diagnoses including COPD, post-op joints, and diabetes

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
