Internship Coordinator
The Internship Coordinator is an innovative and effective professional who designs and manages internships and other career-preparation opportunities. This includes internships, research, field experience, and practicums for the Career Center and the University. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with employers around the world that generate these opportunities as well as organizing job and internship fairs, employer panels, classes, workshops, and mentorship programs for students. The position will provide individual and group career advising and will coordinate learning outcomes and learning objectives. The Coordinator will serve as a liaison for all academic departments, university administrators, department chairs, and students participating in internships. This role will manage existing resources as well as conduct outreach to employers who may provide experiential and employment opportunities. This position works closely with the Executive Director of SLiCE and supervises student career assistant(s) to provide exceptional service and programming for the university. The successful candidate must be able to handle web-based systems and online technology such as HandShake, Big Interview, Forage, and Parker Dewey. The Coordinator is responsible for all tracking of internships and reporting data as required. Assist in maintaining inventory for the Career Closet. This position requires the ability to work effectively with all students on and off campus to cultivate a robust network.
Primary Duties
- Develop and implement MOU agreements, and other required documentation, to formalize internship opportunities for students from CSU Pueblo
- Serve as liaison for academic departments, university administrators, department chairs, employers, and students participating in internships.
- Manage existing and create new internship resources.
- Provide individual and group career advising which focuses on goals and value clarification, career assessment, self-assessment, and strategies for career planning and research.
- Develop and lead career services workshops and internship-related programming, working in conjunction with the Career Center's on-campus recruiting programs and systems.
- Conduct outreach and marketing to off-campus employers who may provide internship opportunities.
- Work closely with the Executive Director of SLiCE and supervise student career assistant(s) to provide exceptional service and programming to the university.
- Develop and prepare reports, advertising and marketing as needed.
- Coordinate annual Internship Fair, assist with Career Fair(s), Dining Etiquette training, and other special career related topics geared towards student success.
- Manage and maintain the Career Center's web-based systems as well as the department website while meeting the university's requirements for all of the Center's web resources. This includes policies, procedures in compliance with applicable employment laws.
Ancillary Duties
Serve on Search and Screen Committees. Perform other duties as assigned and directed.Salary Range $47,700 annually
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institutionProficient with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, CanvaExcellent career-related writing skillsMinimum 1 year experience in, Recruiting, Career Development and Event Planning.Experience in a position utilizing Social Media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, to promote activities or events.Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or related field.Certification in Strong Interest Inventory, Myers Briggs, or other career-related assessments.Knowledge of Human Resources and / or hiring practices,Knowledge of curriculum and majors offered at CSU PuebloKnowledge of University Tickets, MOU agreements, student employment.2 years' experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, and Career Development.Experience with, and commitment to, working in and serving varying populations.Experience using Handshake, and Starfish.Experience in a position managing inventory.Experience interpreting social media analytics.Experience with employer-based research.Experience with career networking.Supplemental Information
