MES EngineerOverview
We are seeking an MES Engineer to lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of our Manufacturing Execution System. This individual will serve as the strategic link between plant operations, IT development, and executive leadership to drive digital transformation and manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on MES experience, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the MES subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance and technical support across the organization.
- Partner with plant teams to gather system requirements, identify pain points, and implement practical solutions.
- Develop and deliver training programs and materials to ensure proper system usage and adoption across all levels.
- Lead the deployment of new MES functionalities and coordinate closely with stakeholders for smooth implementation.
- Evaluate user feedback and align enhancement requests with the MES roadmap and business objectives.
- Stay current with MES updates and communicate relevant changes and capabilities to users.
- Collaborate with technical teams to test and validate system changes for performance and reliability.
- Advise operations leadership on leveraging MES to improve visibility, efficiency, and productivity.
- Mentor manufacturing leaders on integrating MES technologies into operations.
- Travel to manufacturing sites (approximately 15–20% of time) for training, implementation, and evaluation.
QualificationsRequired
3+ years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, or supporting MES platforms.Proficient with MES core concepts (routing, recipes, work orders, lot genealogy) and integration patterns.2+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL for data extraction and reporting.Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training, documentation, and user support.Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.Preferred
Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation.Familiarity with ISA-88, OEE, SPC and their application in manufacturing environments.Experience with Aveva, Rockwell, or other SCADA platforms (1+ year preferred).Project management experience leading MES or digital manufacturing projects (2+ years preferred).Certifications or formal training in MES, industrial automation, or related fields (preferred).Education Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Manufacturing, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment (operations, engineering, maintenance, or continuous improvement).Project management experience is a strong advantage.
