We are seeking a warm, collaborative, and proactive Assistant Teacher to join our Reggio Emilia-inspired infant / toddler program for this school year. Core Responsibilities :
- Support Daily Communication with Families : Help take photos and videos of children at work; assist with uploading content to our parent app; contribute to daily blogs or reflections highlighting classroom moments.
- Assist with Documentation : Work alongside the lead teacher to gather observations, support child portfolios, and contribute to the class project documentation. Help capture meaningful interactions and learning through photos and brief written notes.
- Collaborate on Lesson Planning : Support the lead teacher in preparing engaging, developmentally appropriate materials and activities inspired by the children’s interests. Help integrate weekly specialists (e.g., music, movement, language) into classroom experiences.
- Provide Nurturing Care : Help with feeding, diapering, dressing, and supporting the daily routines of infants with attentiveness and care.
- Promote a Calm, Responsive Environment : Use gentle redirection and modeling to guide behavior. Support circle time, small group explorations, and transitions throughout the day.
- Engage in Professional Learning : Attend staff development sessions and Reggio-inspired training opportunities. Participate in team meetings and reflective conversations about classroom practices and child development.
- Team Collaboration : Communicate regularly with the lead teacher and administrative team. Contribute ideas and reflections to help deepen classroom work and relationships.
Qualifications :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or currently pursuing).Minimum of 1–2 years of classroom experience with infants (3 months to 1 year).Open and enthusiastic about learning the Reggio Emilia approach.Strong verbal and written communication skills.New York State Certification is a plus but not required.
