With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics.We are searching for a candidate who is pursuing an Engineering degree, ideally with prior design experience, to support the Orthobiologics Engineering team here in sunny Naples, FL. Our ideal candidate has in depth experience using CAD software (ideally SolidWorks), basic laboratory experience and is willing to work around and with blood and occasionally cadavers.This role will help drive the design of current / new quality products that optimize procedures and overall enhance the patients’ quality of life. Precision is key and positive outcomes are impacted by pushing the limits of innovation. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to design and evaluate medical device prototypes as well as conduct testing with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, possess a growth mindset, have excellent time management skills, learn from their mistakes, and build working relationships with internal departments. This Co-op will run from January 2026 – June 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility. Main Objective : To support and assist with the product development efforts on the Orthobiologics Engineering Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Support product development process, as well as, some research. Design prototypes in Solidworks, including reverse engineer products. Facilitate engineering change requests and change notices (CR / CN). Update CAD models and create engineering drawings. Assist with maintenance projects and performance evaluation of products. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience : Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a recent graduate, required.Sophomore or junior studying Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Bioengineering preferred. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.) Prior experience in a laboratory, including pipetting, running protocols, etc. preferred. General understanding of engineering design process preferred. Basic knowledge of anatomy / physiology preferred. Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Machine, Tools, and / or Equipment Skills : Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, Fusion360 or AutoCAD) required.SolidWorks experience is preferred.
