Lead Structural Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in 3-D modeling, composite materials / manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and UAS systems to join our on-site engineering team in Salisbury, MD. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across design, prototyping, and testing phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and structural components for UAS systems, focusing on composite structures.
• Interface and work closely with composite manufacturing partners from concept to final composite structure assembly.
• Work in multi-user CAD environments with a focus on version control and collaborative design.
• Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) and / or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools to support development workflows.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on composite and metallic structures and interpret post-analysis results.
• Fabricate and assemble prototypes, including composite layups, trimming, bonding, and testing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, electrical, and flight test teams.

Required Qualifications

3-D modeling and collaborative CAD environments (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, CATIA, NX, Onshape)
