Pay Range :

$50,000-$120,000 per year (commissioned pay structure based on job performance).

Automotive Service Advisor Job Responsibilities :

  • Greet customers and listen to their concerns to understand the service requirements for their vehicles.
  • Provide accurate and detailed estimates for service and repair costs.
  • Schedule service appointments and manage the service workflow to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Liaise between customers and service technicians to relay important information and updates.
  • Advise customers on necessary maintenance and repair services, explaining the benefits and implications.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of services performed and parts used.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Upsell additional services and products when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and service revenue.
  • Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the service process and keep the customer informed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during service operations.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further needs.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary parts and accessories.
  • Prepare and present service reports and documentation to management as required.
  • Assist in managing warranty claims and service recalls in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Automotive Service Advisor Job Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or in a similar customer service role.
  • Strong understanding of automotive technology and repair procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using automotive service management software.
  • Ability to explain complex automotive concepts to customers clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
  • Basic math skills for estimating and billing purposes.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as required.
  • Attendance Expectations :

    The position requires regular and predictable attendance.Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Demands :

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit. May be exposed to load noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service repair conditions.

    Environment Demands :

    Duties are generally performed in the service area. Responsibilities may include conducting road tests on customer vehicles. Work includes inspection of customer vehicles and frequent movement around the Service Department to convey information between customers and service technicians. Frequently interacts with customers, service manager and service technicians, and employees from various departments in the dealerships.

    Verbal and Writing Ability :

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

    Math Ability :

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

    Reasoning Ability :

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
