About The Position

Job Title : Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : Day 4x10-Hour

Hours per Shift : 07 : 00 - 17 : 30

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in a cardiac or critical care setting. Experience in cardiac cath and / or interventional radiology preferred.

License : VA or compact nursing license required.

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.

Must-Have : Experience in activated clotting time, cardiac stent placement, and procedural sedation.

Description :

The position consists of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

On-call requirements include weekends and holidays.

The nurse will work with a maximum patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 : 6.

First-time travelers are welcomed.

Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.

Floating within the scope of practice to meet facility needs is expected.

The unit performs 12-18 cases daily across 3 newly renovated labs.

Common procedures include TAVRs, Watchman procedures, and peripheral interventions.

The team is composed of hardworking individuals focused on collaboration.

Specialty equipment in use includes Philips rooms, Medrad, and manifold for injections.

Documentation is carried out using XPER and EPIC systems.

RNs are responsible for circling, monitoring, and scrubbing procedures.

Daily case volume ranges between 4 to 7 cases per lab.

The environment is high volume and high acuity, focusing on STEMI calls.

Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy services.

The unit is equipped to handle various patient diagnoses, offering comprehensive care.

Candidates should demonstrate competence in managing emergency medications and infection prevention.

Comfort with procedural sedation administration and monitoring is essential.

This role requires effective communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Travelers must complete required certifications before the start date.

A willingness to adapt to block scheduling may be negotiated at the manager's discretion.

Pre-approved time off is subject to managerial approval.
