Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Job Title : Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location : Sanford, FL Area Schools
Position Type : Full-Time, Contract, On-Site
Pay : Starting at $40 / Hour (Based on Experience)
Responsibilities :
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats, including Braille and large print.
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure student success.
Train students in the use of assistive technology and adaptive tools.
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state, district, and federal regulations.
Requirements :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or related field.
Active Florida certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (or eligibility to obtain).
Knowledge of Braille, accessible instructional design, and assistive technology.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.
