Required Certification :
- Valid Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification (Pre-K–12), Mild / Moderate OR Severe / Profound (Intellectual Disability), or eligibility for Rhode Island certification.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Deliver instruction aligned with Rhode Island State Standards and students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).Provide specially designed instruction to meet the unique academic, behavioral, and social needs of students with disabilities.Develop, implement, and update IEPs within state and federal compliance timelines.Collaborate with Special Education Program Managers, BCBAs, and paraprofessionals to ensure inclusive educational practices.Maintain accurate and timely progress reports in accordance with RI regulations.Establish a structured, positive, and safe classroom environment.Develop and apply classroom management and behavioral intervention plans.Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.Conduct both individual and group interventions for students requiring additional support.Apply evidence-based instructional methods and differentiation techniques.Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress toward goals.Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations governing special education.Schedule and manage student re-evaluations and alternate assessments.Participate in professional development and training opportunities.Maintain documentation for Medicaid billing and time study participation.Provide accommodations for all types of formal assessments.Utilize positive behavioral supports and collaborate with staff and families.Perform other related duties as assigned by school administration.Saratoga Medical Center, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and will not discriminate in recruiting, hiring, training, promotion, transfer, discharge, compensation or any other term or condition of employment on the basis of race, religion, color, age (over age 39), sex, national origin, or on the basis of disability if the employee can perform the essential functions of the job, with a reasonable accommodation if necessary.
