Our Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to join our Prismatic Manufacturing Group in East Aurora, NY. As a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer, you will be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You'll work hands-on with milled parts, applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC Mill machining processes for both new and legacy components.
- Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications.
- Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for precision part fabrication.
- Troubleshoot shop floor issues, including tooling, gauging, workholding, and inspection challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility.
- Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies.
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements.
- Assist in the creation of machine-ready code and be hands-on in the production environment, assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting.
- Estimate setup / run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment.
Qualifications
ABachelor's degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience, or a High School Diploma / GED with 8+ years of proven professional experience.Proficiency in CNC Milling Machining, including multi-axis vertical or horizontal machining centers.Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation.Preferred Skills
A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.Background in the aerospace industry.Experience with machine automation integration.Skills in inspection of machined parts.Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.How we care for you
