Position Overview

You will have a leadership role in providing O&M (Operation & Maintenance) and technical support on Energy Storage Systems and ancillary equipment starting from installation through warranty and long-term operation service support regionally. This position also interfaces with customer and third-party contractors of large system components including battery DC system, PCS, Transformers, Auxiliary power, and air conditioning systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Personnel & Operations Leadership

  • Lead field O&M service teams of 2–4 professional staff, and 6 to 10 field service technicians or subcontractors; organize personnel work rotations, and field coverage to meet availability and performance assurance.
  • Establish, promote, and maintain good customer service relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Act as main point-of-contact for customer’s O&M team, site owners, asset managers, and internal stakeholders as Service engineering team, Supply chain team, Digital tool support teams, etc.
  • Educate customers and contractors on basic equipment operation, response, and maintenance.
  • Manage authorized service providers, contractors and vendors : oversee hiring, performance, safety, scheduling, scopes of work, and quality assurance, effectively and on collaborative manners.
  • Operational budgeting & P&L reporting : develop budgets, apply for staffing plan, approve time / materials, track costs and invoicing to meet P&L budgetary plan.
  • Perform scheduling and meetings and maintain accurate site records of work performed and site issues on Digital Workorder tools.
  • Ensure safety & compliance : lead request H&S practices, people training matrix, author and review safety permits, maintain compliance with guidance provided by the department H&S manager.

Technical O&M & Site Oversight

  • Oversee daily site operations : review day-to-day site safety review, JHA analysis per job requirement, LOTO review and recording, monitor alarms on SCADA / Digital tools, Dashboards, performance metrics, operational KPIs.
  • Plan & perform maintenance : schedule preventive maintenance per O&M manuals and technical guidance; coordinate and sometimes execute field repairs. And support the sites software and augmentation activities.
  • Technical lead role of defective troubleshooting support and guidance for onsite service engineers and technicians.
  • Analyze system performance : root-cause underperformance, prepare reports, optimize reliability.
  • Manage asset onboarding : configure new systems in SCADA / Digital tools, collaborate with commissioning team, acceptance tests.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Required :

  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical test and measurement equipment.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings in relation to physical systems.
  • Ability to interface well with customers and team members in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software compatibility issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge TCP / IP networking, especially routing and communications protocols.
  • Experience with computer network operating systems.
  • Experience using Office tools Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
  • Desired :

  • Working knowledge of communications protocols such as CAN, Modbus, TCP / IP, DNP3
  • Familiarity with complex controls systems, Real-Time Operating Systems.
  • Engineering experience with energy storage and power conversion systems.
  • Structured problem-solving experience.
  • Understanding of computer networks, remote access and data analysis,
  • Strong stakeholder management, team leadership.
  • Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree is preferred in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Request 5 – 7+ years in utility-scale BESS or PV O&M.
  • Safety qualifications : NFPA 70E and H&S compliance knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, domestic and international.
  • Flexibility with working during off-hours and being part of the off-hours, on-call rotation
