Overview

GM and Food (General Merchandise, Closing, Fulfillment, Inbound, Food and Beverage, Food Service, Starbucks) (T2247)

Starting hourly rate is $17.00 USD per hour. Pay range is $17.00 USD - $25.50 USD per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks and assist guests in a welcoming way to solve their specific needs.
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
  • Execute daily tasks to support business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
  • Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
  • Maintain processes such as changing prices, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by leadership.
  • Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
  • Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the total store and area to resolve guest issues and improve experience.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking / packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

    The training helps you learn everything you need to know to be a General Merchandise Expert. A few essential skills include :

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and technology as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
  • Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks within timeframes.

    • Additional Basics We Expect

  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Climb ladders when required.
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures / humidity and other elements while performing duties.
  • Must be mobile for the duration of shift; shift length may vary.
