Position Summary : Support trenching and underground utility installation operations by performing essential manual labor tasks while maintaining the highest safety standards on active construction sites.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate hand tools and small power tools for excavation, backfill, and site preparation activitiesAssist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials, equipment, and supplies at job sitesSupport trenching operations by clearing debris, maintaining work areas, and preparing sites for equipmentInstall and remove safety barriers, traffic control devices, and job site signage as directedPerform manual excavation around sensitive utilities and in areas requiring precision diggingAssist with grade checking, threading and pulling cables, and backfill operationsMaintain job site cleanliness and organization according to company and client standardsFollow all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and participate in daily safety meetingsCommunicate effectively with crew leaders and team members to ensure efficient operationsComplete assigned tasks within project timelines while maintaining quality standardsRequired Qualifications :
High school diploma, GED, or equivalentAbility to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the workdayCapability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and coldWillingness to travel and work away from home for extended periods (2-8 weeks)Valid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checkStrong work ethic and reliability with consistent attendanceBasic understanding of construction safety practicesPreferred Qualifications :
1+ years of construction or manual labor experiencePrevious trenching, excavation, or underground utility experienceOSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certificationExperience with construction hand tools and small equipmentCommercial Driver's License (CDL-A or CDL-B)Work Environment & Conditions :
Field-based position working on active construction sites nationwideTravel required 75-90% of the time, with projects lasting 2-8 weeksStandard schedule : 10-hour days, 6 days per week (overtime opportunities available)Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions on uneven terrainPhysical demands include frequent lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periodsMay require work in confined spaces and around heavy construction equipmentWhat We Offer :
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and certifications :
No CDL : $15.50 - $20.00 per hourWith CDL-B : $20.00 - $26.00 per hourWith CDL-A : $26.00 - $32.00 per hourPlus, comprehensive benefits :
