Shipping And Receiving Associate

Nesco is working with a production company in Dublin, Ohio, looking for a 1st shift Shipping and Receiving Associate. Automotive sheet metal fabrication company located in the Columbus, Ohio area. We are seeking production workers who will manufacture sheet metal and light rail parts. We are looking for energetic individuals with production experience using sheet metal, preferably in a manufacturing or job shop setting. Shift-Monday-Friday 8am-4 : 30pm OT as needed Pay is based on experience.

Summary : Lifts, transports, stores, and loads materials and products by use of sit-down forklifts. Supports the administration of incoming and outgoing parcels.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Also verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas. Prepares bills of lading. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Inserts items into containers. Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products. Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels. Requisitions containers and other supplies for delivery to work stations. Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders.

Education and / or experience : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MRP, email, spreadsheet, and word processing software. One needs to be able to effectively operate within and navigate electronic databases and data entry systems.
