Job Title : Chief Engineer

Position Summary
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring optimal functionality of all systems and infrastructure. This includes leading the engineering team, managing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring guest satisfaction through timely repairs, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PM schedule for all hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, fire safety, and pool equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to identify maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate records of PM activities, repairs, and inspections
- Coordinate with vendors for scheduled servicing and equipment calibration
- Monitor equipment performance and lifespan to recommend upgrades or replacements
- Oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure all hotel systems are functioning efficiently
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency
- Ensure the physical appearance of the property meets brand standards
- Manage energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs
- Recruit, train, and supervise engineering staff
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure timely and high-quality work
- Conduct regular safety and technical training sessions
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Facility Operations
