JOB TITLE :

  • ABOUT THE ROLE SSL has an immediate opening for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Insurance Accounting team.
  • The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Insurance Accounting Manager and work closely with colleagues across the Finance team.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a solid foundation in accounting practices and procedures.
  • This is a great opportunity to develop technical skills in insurance accounting while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

  • Prepare and submit journal entries and assist with monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for multiple insurance entities.
  • Assist with review and preparation of multiple types of tax payments according to filing deadlines.  Assist with quarterly and annual statutory filings.
  • Assist with Unclaimed Property reporting and timely filings Assist other departments to resolve bank items, positive pay exceptions, produce pay runs, and other outstanding items.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    • WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field 1-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in insurance or financial services Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse team members from across the organization.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, opportunity-rich environment.

  • POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position.

    • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 :

  • 00 a.m. to 6 : 00 p.m., 40 hours weekly, or as otherwise arranged with the manager of the department.
