Description :
The Dental Assistant is responsible for coordinating both front and back office duties including : greeting patients, registering patients, and providing information regarding dental services and how to qualify for them, preparing treatment room and patients for treatment, collecting data for reports and other duties assigned. The Dental Assistant will make a lasting change in the lives of underserved patients in our community, while growing their career. They will report to the Dental Center Coordinator.

Preparing patients for treatment and assisting the dentist and hygienist during proceduresSterilizing and setting up instruments and materialsProviding patients with oral health instructions and postoperative care guidanceExposing dental diagnostic radiographsRecording treatment information in patient recordsAssisting in medical and dental emergenciesMonitoring and managing dental supply inventoryTraining and supervising volunteer dental assistantsEnsuring compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulationsCross-training to support administrative tasks such as scheduling and recordkeepingObtains and appropriately files / shares completed patient paperwork and information.Contributes to a team environment of meeting program goals.All other duties as assigned.Agency-wide Responsibilities

High School Diploma or equivalentDental Assistant Certification or minimum of 2 years of experienceRadiology and safety certificationPassionate for compassionate , patient-centered careBilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.Willingness to learn and grow professionallyPhysical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Prolonged period of sitting and or standing assisting the doctors.Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.SPFC is a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace.
