Staff Accountant / Corporate Accountant

Location : Madison, WI | Ultratec, Inc.

Position Summary - Staff Accountant / Corporate Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing monthly accounting functions , preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting the Director of Finance on projects. This role requires a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and collaboration across multiple teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintain general ledger, reconcile accounts, record transactions, and prepare monthly financial statements for multiple companies.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting (depreciation, additions, disposals) using Sage FAS.
  • Prepare cash flow projections, sales / inventory reports, and other specialized reporting.
  • Coordinate and assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Research and apply multi-state sales and use tax laws, registrations, and compliance.
  • Reconcile and report Flex Spending program transactions.
  • File annual state reports and maintain Registered Agents.
  • Approve and record bank transactions.
  • Assist Director of Finance with audits, surveys, and special projects.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience with emphasis on general ledger.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills).
  • Experience with ERP software.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and sound judgment.
