Security Specialist (Training Specialist)
A Security Specialist (Training Specialist) is needed to review operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron. This role involves analyzing exercise and contingency plans, evaluating equipment, manning, and training requirements, and coordinating with other organizations on applicable plans. The specialist will manage the development of plans for deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and other related plans. They will prepare, update, and review the SF portion of the base deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and related plans. The specialist will also oversee the coordination, review, and implementation of SF manning authorizations and military personnel assignments. They will serve as the SF commander's key staff member responsible for the overall management of the unit-training program, overseeing planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating all unit training related items. The specialist will advise and assist commander and unit personnel in executing their training responsibilities, prepare a budget to support training requirements, and develop and coordinate training policy and program changes.
The requirements for this position include Minnesota Air National Guard membership, wearing the military uniform, and registering for Selective Service if male born after December 31, 1959. The selectee must obtain the 133 SFS duty positions of Flight Sergeant within 2 years and Base Defense Operations Center Operator within 6 months of selection. Highly qualified applicants will hold the 3P0X1 AFSC, and must complete various courses within specified timeframes. A background investigation will be conducted to determine federal employment suitability.
To qualify, candidates must meet the experience requirements, including specialized experience in security police, information security, and force protection, among other duties. A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree is required, along with transcripts to support educational claims.
