Travel Pipefitter Position - Per Diem

Assist in the building of nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers. If this is something you are interested in, please apply here!

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years as a marine, commercial nuclear, or petro / chem Pipefitter.
  • Ability to read and interpret ship piping drawings.
  • Experience with carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.
  • Knowledge in installing pipe hangers and reading a ruler using inches and tenths.
  • Capability to use grinders for cleaning and cutting pipes.
  • Experience in fabricating details and assemblies from drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret ship piping drawings.
  • Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.
  • End prep piping by hand or with a machine.
  • Install pipe hangers accurately.
  • Read a ruler using inches and tenths.
  • Prep and fit-up backing rings.
  • Clean cut / break pipe with a grinder.
  • Hand prep V bevels effectively.
  • Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings.
  • Bend pipe from a template and use a hand bender.
  • Fit welded sockets and brazed joints with or without inserts.

    • Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $29.50 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
