Position Details

Specialty Focus : Primary Care

Model of Care : 1 : 1 support with CMA or LVN; co-manages patient panel with supervising physician

Epic Training : Outpatient

Patient Volume : 12-14 per day once fully ramped up

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM (flexibility with team)

Call / Weekends : Very infrequent

Premium Pay : Moonlighting available for additional shifts

Duties : Outpatient clinic only; no hospital or surgical rounding

Candidate Requirements

Experience : Open (Primary Care background preferred)

Baylor Scott & White Clinic - Austin Downtown provides preventive care, primary care, and specialty services to patients in the downtown Austin and surrounding communities.

The primary care physicians and specialists at our clinic offer a range of services, including dermatology, cardiology and orthopedics. The family doctors here also treat common conditions, like asthma, the flu, skin diseases and back pain.

Job Summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) Primary Care is a licensed, certified healthcare provider. They provide direct patient care and have prescriptive authority. They are credentialed, privileged, and billed as an independent provider by Medicare and Medicaid. The Advanced Practice Provider offers medical care based on the supervising physician's scope of practice.

These providers typically provide care to patients in an internal medicine, family medicine, geriatric or pediatric clinic.

Physician Assistants (PA)

Basic Life Support (BLS) : BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
