Primary Objective of the Test Engineer :
Provide test methods, perform testing, and support debugging of test fixtures developed by the Company to deliver products and services recognized by our customers as having world class quality, reliability, and perceived value.
Major Areas of Accountability of the Test Engineer :
- Perform tester checkout on completed ICT fixtures performing and supporting debug and rework of fixtures which do not pass on the ICT platform
- Write and debug test programs and / or create basic test files for Keysight / Agilent 3070, GenRad 228X, and various Teradyne ICT platforms
- Interface with account managers and / or customers to acquire the latest test software for test fixture checkout and provide technical support for customers utilizing Company developed hardware and / or software
- Track defect rates for product tested on the ICT platforms by documenting them in the NCR database and work proactively with the production team to reduce defects and improve yield
- Perform installation and debug of ICT fixtures at customer sites
- Provide maintenance and debug support for ICT platforms.
Education and Experience Required of the Test Engineer :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a test engineering environmentExperience developing test files for Keysight / Agilent 3070, GenRad 228X, and various Teradyne ICT platforms5 years of experience working in an electromechanical manufacturing environmentExperience modifying customer-provided software to perform tester checkoutExperience writing and debugging ICT softwareExperience performing customer installation and debugFunctional test experience utilizing NI LabVIEW is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required of the Test Engineer :
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detailSolid analytical skills; able to resolve complex technical problems with innovative solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCapacity to deal with a high workload and deadline pressureProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong initiative, proactive nature, and a sense of urgencyAbility to modify customer-provided software to perform checkout of test fixturesAbility to write custom test software for multiple ICT platformsMaintains confidentiality and security of intellectual property (ITAR, Prototype)Ability to travel within the US.Physical Requirements (these physical requirements must be performed with or without accommodation) of the Test Engineer :
Being present at work and maintain a full-time schedule within the core hours of business operationsMajority of time is spent on the production floor in usual office working conditionsAbility to sit for extended lengths of time; bend, reach, stoop, and twistUse of an office computer for preparing work, and test platform for completing workRegular exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; risk of electrical shockRegular exposure to manufacturing areas which may entail exposure to dirt, dust, noise, machine chemicals, fumes, and other attributes common to this environmentAbility to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.Ability to travel as necessary and work extended hours as job duties demand.This job description reflects management’s assignment of key responsibilities; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Compensation includes base salary, performance-based annual bonuses, and equity. [hourly base rate and performance-based quarterly profit sharing]. Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and retirement programs. Paid leave includes paid time off and holiday pay.
