• ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY :
• Responsible for providing assistance through forklift operation in areas of receiving, pre-cooling, shipping, and packaging as needed. Ability to work with warehouse management systems and associated mobile handheld equipment. Maintain and update daily equipment logs. Adhering to Safety and Food Safety practices. This position requires adequate knowledge and skills to be certified by the company to operate a forklift for the means of fulfilling production and order fulfillment needs.
• JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Operates industrial forklift / pallet jacks. Responsibilities may include (but not limited to) : loading / unloading inventory from trucks, racking finished goods, moving inventory within the warehouse and stacks fruit crates above shoulder level to consolidate pallets
• Loads product onto trucks according to loading process and assures proper quantities against bill of lading.
• Proper care and use of warehouse equipment
• Ability to perform trailer inspection checklist (good repair, temperature compliance and sanitation)
• Stages fruit in tunnels to cool fruit to desired temperature according to pre-cool process.
• Loads materials for growers.
• Performs daily safety and operational check of forklift.
• Work with Department Coordinators and Supervisors on the process of pre-staging orders
• Must maintain best handling practices to ensure product quality and FIFO.
• Adhere to Safety and Food Safety practices
• Working in a fast paced and metric driven environment while delivering on superior customer service
• Ability to work with warehouse management system
• Other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE PROFILE [Requirements] :

• Position demands a flexible work schedule; to include Overtime, Weekends, On Call, Day / Mid / Night Hours Shifts, and Holidays, including other work functions within Distribution for example : (Export, In-bound, Out-bound, Long Cane, Shipping Area)
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds and work in cold environment
• High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience working in a fast-paced distribution environment highly preferred.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Effective verbal & written communications; (English / Spanish) preferred
• Thorough understanding of receiving, cooling, storage, rotation and shipping of fruit, highly preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and problem solve in a timely manner
• Must be a self-starter, dependable, reliable and can work independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as data entry and the ability to run reports
