American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a nights ICU position working with adult and geriatric stroke, cardiac, and overdose patients, requiring ACLS and BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the ICU of a hospital environment with 12 beds and an average daily census of 8Patient population includes adults and geriatrics dealing primarily with stroke, cardiac (cardiovert, pacemaker, no open heart), and overdose casesShifts are 3x12 hours, nights from 19 : 00 to 7 : 30Float required to MS / Tele, medical, surgical, intermediate care, and step-down units as neededProcedures include central line placement, bronchoscopy, and PEG tube managementEpic is the EMR system used on this unitRequired to work holidays as needed and every other weekendPrimary responsibilities include care for acutely ill stroke, cardiac, and overdose patients, including ventilator and advanced cardiac supportScrubs are provided for staffFree parking available on siteBring your own lock for locker use and either bring lunch or money for the on-site caféMust not be a returning permanent employee within the past year at any BJC facilityTravelers may remain for up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month break is requiredNo RTO allowed during the first week of orientation; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contractAll travelers will float within the service line or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license in hand for IL required at time of consideration (IL is not a compact state)Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredProficiency in ventilator management, pressor and sedation titration, tele, IV start, and stroke management requiredExperience with balloon pumps and CRRT preferredEpic EMR experience requiredNo candidates residing within a 75-mile radius of the facilityFirst-time travelers are acceptedReferences from supervisors within the last 2 years are preferredMust pass fit testing for masks (facial hair must allow proper fit)\n Benefits\n
