Mechanical Engineer – New Graduate (2 Openings)
Location : 100% Remote, must live a commutable distance to Rapid City, SD
Pay Rate : $25–$30 / hr
Contract-to-Hire : 6 months
Position 1 : Mechanical Design Engineer
Focus : Sheet metal design and functional mechanical components
Responsibilities :
- Create and modify 3D models using SolidWorks
- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
- Generate detailed manufacturing drawings
- Support fabrication and assembly processes
Preferred Experience :
Sheet metal forming and fabricationMachining and mechanical assemblyExposure to manufacturing environmentsPosition 2 : Large-Scale Structures Design Engineer
Focus : Physical design of large mechanical structures
Responsibilities :
Design heavy structural systems using SolidWorksDevelop mechanical parts and assemblies for large-scale applicationsCreate detailed drawings for manufacturing and assemblyCollaborate with remote team members in South DakotaAdapt to shifting project needs and cross-functional tasksPreferred Experience :
Structural design and analysisManufacturing and machining processesSheet metal and mechanical systemsGeneral Requirements (Both Roles) :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (South Dakota Mines preferred)Strong proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modelingPassion for creating manufacturing-ready drawingsAbility to work collaboratively with local and remote teamsWillingness to switch between projects based on team needsPay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 / hr.
