Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to plan, organize, and implement an instructional program that promotes learning for all students in a safe and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will provide engaging and differentiated instruction, manage classroom behavior effectively, and ensure that each student’s individual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that facilitates active learning for students with diverse needs.

Develop, modify, and implement instructional plans and materials to meet individual student goals.

Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom expectations.

Assign and assess classwork, homework, and evaluations to monitor student progress.

Communicate regularly with students, parents, staff, and the school community.

Provide feedback on student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

Maintain accurate records in compliance with applicable laws and school practices.

Utilize relevant technology to support and enhance instruction in both in-person and digital settings.

Create a classroom environment that supports intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.

Participate in meetings, professional development activities, and collaborative planning sessions.

Monitor appropriate use of classroom materials, equipment, and technology.

Support operational needs of the school through additional duties as assigned.

Provide instruction and support through digital platforms as necessary.

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field.

State certification or eligibility for certification in Special Education.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams.

Proficiency in using technology to support instruction.

Pays up to $65 / hour
