Owen Electric Company is seeking a strategic, results-driven  Business Development Leader  to spearhead our  Get Work  initiative.

This individual will play a critical role in expanding our client base, strengthening relationships, and driving growth across the Southeastern U.S. market.

This is more than a sales role — it’s about developing lasting partnerships, uncovering opportunities, and positioning Owen Electric Company as the electrical contractor of choice for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Market Development :  Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities that align with company goals in target markets across the Southeast.

Relationship Building :

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, engineering firms, and other industry stakeholders.

    • Pipeline Ownership :

  • Lead the front-end of the business development process — from early engagement and prequalification through proposal and contract award.

    • Market Intelligence :

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform strategic pursuits and maintain a competitive edge.

    • Collaborative Leadership :

  • Partner with internal estimating, operations, and executive teams to align project pursuits with company capacity, capabilities, and growth strategy.

    • Brand Representation :

  • Represent Owen Electric at industry events, trade shows, association meetings, and client functions to enhance market visibility and reputation.

    • Qualifications :

  • Proven track record (10+ years) of successful business development experience in the construction, electrical contracting, or related industries.
  • Deep knowledge of the Southeastern U.S. construction market and established relationships within the region preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities — able to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Self-starter with the discipline to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel regionally as required.
