Position Summary : The CNC Operator is responsible for the successful and efficient operation of all CNC, while maintaining order and delivery of cut parts to the carpentry team. Scout Design Studio provides a creative, collaborative and professional atmosphere working on a wide variety of projects working with a very diverse group of craftspeople / artisans, clients and vendors.
Essential Functions Statement(s) :
- Understand and interpret router files
- Oversee cutting strategies to maintain precise cutting and bit life
- Strategize the best use of new and remnant materials
- Load and unload sheet goods onto router bed
- Clean, trim, deburr, and collate finished pieces
- Maintain machines according to the maintenance schedule
- Communicate problems and progress to technical management
- Assist other departments when time allows
- Maintain a safe work environment

Requirements :
Education, Experience, & Certifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.8+ years of experience as a CarpenterAdvanced experience in complex furniture builds, millwork, and veneer applicationAssociates degree from a 2-year college or technical school preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Carpentry shop experience in scenic or production industriesProficient with tools and construction materialsTeam oriented, collaborative work ethicAbility to work in fast paced environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work overtimeRepetitive use of feet and handsAbility to lift up to 100 Ibs. repeatedlyAbility to push and pull upwards of 10 lbs. repeatedlyWhile performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
