Position Overview

The Staff Software Engineer drives technical excellence and innovation across our organization.

This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, focusing on architecting

scalable solutions while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

About the Calendar Platform Team :

Modern HR and payroll systems are full of date-driven events : time off, shift schedules, payroll deadlines, holidays, compliance tasks, and more. But too often, these critical timelines are scattered across disconnected tools, creating confusion for employees and friction for businesses.

At Paylocity, the Calendar Team is building the foundational time layer that brings it all together.

We own the central Calendar infrastructure that powers experiences across our entire product ecosystem. Our platform will be used by dozens of internal teams and millions of end-users.

What we are building :

Our mission is to make time-based data consistent, contextual, and actionable across the platform. We’re not just building UI components—we’re building a flexible Calendar-as-a-Platform, with reusable front end components and robust APIs that other teams can easily plug into.

Recent and upcoming initiatives include :

• Unified Calendar Experience across the enterprise HR suite
• Deep integrations with Time Off, Punch Clocks, and Scheduling
• Visibility into Payroll, Benefit, and Pay Cycle timelines
