About the Position

Job Summary : We are currently seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a 13-week travel contract in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will be experienced in neonatal respiratory therapy, including ventilator management, CPAP, and emergency interventions. This is a night shift role with the option to work extended hours, and the opportunity to float to other respiratory care units as needed. Key Responsibilities : Deliver advanced respiratory care to neonates in a high-acuity NICU setting Collaborate closely with NICU care teams including nurses and neonatologists Manage ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen therapy for premature and critically ill newborns Perform assessments and therapeutic interventions, documenting in Epic EMR Float to like respiratory therapy units when needed Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital protocols

Qualifications : Education : Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program Experience : Minimum of 1 year of recent NICU or ICU respiratory therapy experience Licenses / Certifications : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Required Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner License – Active or Pending BLS (AHA) – Required NRP – Preferred Skills & Abilities : Expertise in neonatal mechanical ventilation and CPAP Knowledge of neonatal physiology and respiratory pharmacology Proficiency in Epic charting system Strong critical thinking and decision-making under pressure Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
