Measurement Technician
The Measurement Technician position is based out of Kinder Morgan's Kinder, LA facility located at 15449 Parish Line Road, Kinder, LA 70648. This is a Monday through Friday position with on-call responsibilities nights and weekends. Primary Purpose : Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and accuracy of all natural gas and control facilities.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
- Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and remove advanced measurement, control and regulation equipment, and gas quality equipment
- Detect measurement error, correct volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation
- Monitor gas volumes through the measurement system; ensure all corrections are applied and proper gas composition is applied
- Interpret and apply electrical and electronic schematics pertaining to EFM and measurement electronics
- Assess all facets of assigned facilities to ensure accurate measurement and maintaining the company lost and unaccounted for gas and product with a high degree of ownership within the established corporate goals
- Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed
- Oversee the construction and / or maintenance activities performed by third parties
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
- Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements
- Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence
- Work safely when performing duties while fully embracing safety programs
- Be on-time, consistent, and reliable in attendance for work as well as all associated meetings and obligations
- Respond timely in communications
- Complete projects in a timely manner in accordance with budgets and expectations

- Overtime will be expected as required by the position; Limited overnight travel may also be required

Position Requirements
Education :
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of pipeline experience.Certifications, Licenses, Registrations :
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurersWill be required to possess a commercial driver's license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulationsAchieve and maintain all qualifications, certifications, and progression requirements applicable to the job classificationCompletion of any site specific technical training that may be applicableExperience / Specific Knowledge :
Must be able to travel to locations in company provided boatUnderstand and operate all measurement related instrumentationWorking knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of measurement projectsProficient with computer skills (MS Office, operating systems, company software, and technical systems)Basic Math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)Competencies, skills, and abilities :

Must be able to travel to locations in company provided boatMust be able to withstand extreme weather conditionsMust be able to work while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment such as, safety glasses, flame retardant clothing, steel toe footwear, respirator, etc.Must be able to frequently, enter confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, walkways, etc.Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, lift 26 to 50 pounds from floor to waist occasionally, and 51 to 100 pounds if requiredMay work in low-lit areasPreferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position) :
A two year technical degree in, electrical, electronics, or equivalent from an approved and accredited college or universityExperience in all phases of measurement as described in the Job ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of gas chromatographyWorking knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, measurement related portions of NEC, and AGA standardsKnowledge and experience with safe handling practices of products (gas and liquids)Approved educational courses in all phases of measurementJob level commensurate with skills and experience.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
